Communions
Communions are one of my favourite genres. The kids are at that beautiful age where they follow instructions and are happy to actively participate in the creative process, which is extremely rewarding!
Also, one of the best things that ever happen to me as a photographer, was when a little boy said to me after a session: "I actually wasn't up for it and I wasn't willing to come. But I loved it so much that I could come again tomorrow".
I must admit he made me cry a little bit. It felt amazing.
My style is very natural and during the session I always try to make your child relaxed. I have kids of the same age myself so I guess I have some practice. My favourite locations are the beach and forest. I do like to mix exterior with studio depending on your preference. I also use ProFoto lights and incorporate them in my photos.
I love Gibraltar and Spain equally for the communion sessions. It feels amazing to be able to choose between two countries! If you wish to incorporate the studio too that would be in my home studio.
When and where is the best to do the communion session?
I book communion sessions from mid March until end of May. The weather tends to be the best for it, as it is not too hot, but quite warm. It is also the best season for blooming flowers, which I am in love with. My favourite locations for this time are locations with lots of nature. For Gibraltar this would be the Alameda Gardens and in Spain I have a special location in Pinar Del Rey, San Roque or Punta Paloma, Tarifa. When it comes to the time of the day I definitely prefer afternoon when the sunlight is soft and delicate.
When to book?
Every year, I open the bookings in January but normally I would suggest minimum 1 month prior the session. At the moment I am already taking bookings for 2020 & 2021.
What to prepare?
The only thing that you need to bring is clothes which you would like to include in the session. You can bring a few dresses if you would like some variety in the photos. Don't worry, I will not leave you alone with the choice and will give you as much advice as you need. Upon booking I will send you detailed information about what to prepare for the session and what looks good in the photos.
